Adding Digital Card

Hi all. I am getting ready to add a digital card to our option 11c. Will that automatically change the numbers below to 96 and 26 left since the card will add 16 ports?

And is there any additional steps other than just sliding the new card in. They aleady have the line going to the pacth panel from the blank slot.

You may receive a Keycode from Nortel. It have to be entered in PBX.

Those counts are how many keycodes you have left in software, a card is hardware.

You only have 10 digital and 8 Analog software Lic left. You will need to buy more TN Lic to use more then 10 Diagital TN's.

both post are right, a new card does not add license or tn's. that's a key code option ($) to add a card, slide it in, it needs to blink 3 times and give you an ovl. then go to ld 11

I just received the card and inserted it. It blinked red 3 times and prompted the message of xmi001 9 xdlc

went to ld 11 and tried to new cardmlt and received:

SCH0122

Don't have to do new cardmlt
Just
REQ: new or cpy 1
TYPE: 3904 (or any other Nortel digital set)
TN 9 0 for the first TN of card in slot 9

You dont need TN lic anymore. You will have buy digital or analog lic to go beyond the 24 analog and 80 digital lic.

You can program 10 more digital and 8 more analog phones before you need to buy the lic.

thanks all. I was wondering because when i added the card is still showed only 10 digital left. Very displeased.

Do i buy the license for the additional card(or additional digital licenses) from my pri carrier?

From Nortel directly or from the provider that sold you the card.

After adding the card, this is what I have. Digital never changed. it appears i have plenty TN's. I only see 3 keycodes and I have 7 cards installed

it appears that you do not need a license per card, but you need a license to extend the limits of the system, correct?

You need Lic per TN.

Cards are hardware, you buy the card

TN's are software, you buy Keycode's to program the Hardware.

If you had 10 Dig cards, you don't need any Lic until you want to program a phone. then you need a Lic.you have 8 Dig Lic left, after you program those 8 you will need to buy more Lic to program any more phone's.

ok here is the quote I just received from my provider.

$1400 plus install for 16 licenses. Is that correct, since I am adding 16 more phones? The 8 left will be occupied as well. The price seems enormous.

Is there a way for me to kill the install fee by doing it myself?

Yes if your vendor will sell them to you.

You can shop other vendors for keycodes as well, that sounds a little high for only 16 tn's.
