I’m a converted NEC 2000IPS on-site tech that’s now working on a Nortel 61C so go easy! hehe

My problem is we have to add new Local Toll prefixes 207, 380, 466, 521, 567, 650, 788 to area code “234” and also add a completely new area code “567”.

When I first started here I called Verizon to add local prefixes 521, and 650 to area code “234”. It took the tech a long time to figure out how to do this because he said we had everything setup in “fcas” feature instead of the typical way that it’s done.

For instance when I try to look at our main local area code of “330” in LD 90 I get the following:

type is npa not 1330.. try that and post back.. i would out the fcas unless your paying extra for some nxx's.. other choice is adding the new number to the allow table..

for the new npa. ld 90.. prt (from above) any clean npa, not the rli..l then same commands starting with new, add the rlb and that one is done

Ok I was able to add the new LD area code "567" and it works perfect however, I'm still confused with the way "fcas" works.

We basically have two area codes that are both local and local toll, 330 and now 234. In fci 1 for area code 330 (Main) they allow all local prefixes. In fci 2 area for code 330 (Main) they deny all local prefixes. When you place a call our switch correctly knows when you need to add a 1 before the phone number.

I tried to do the same with area code 234, allowing local prefixes in fci 1 and denying local toll prefixes in fci 2. What happens is you can't dial any local prefixes and the local toll prefixes go through without asking for the 1.

Here's what I have:

looks like you need to have 234 go to RLI 6 like 330 does

The one piece of the puzzle you are missing is the RLI
