I am running a Merlin Legend R7.x and I would like to add another DLC Operator position. I already have 3 DLC's and would like to add a 4th one that is identical to the others.
I have plugged the 20L phone into one of the "hot" ports on an 016 card in the phone system, and hooked the DSS up to the phone. The phone works as a standard extension right now.
Here's where I'm stuck.
I know that I need to somehow "activate" this phone so that it can be an "operator" phone before I can copy an existing operator's extension onto it. But I don't know how.
I went into the system programming, and when I got into the "operators" section, my entire phone system locked up (I understand what that means), so I decided to wait until after-hours to complete this process in case this "activation" needs exclusive acess to the phone system to preform this operator addition.
However, I was simply fiddling around looking for the place to activate this operator, so I'm not even sure if that was the place to be anyway.
So now I'm asking if anyone knows how to do this so that I don't have to fiddle around for too long this evening after-hours.
