Help, I am currently running an upgrade project from Act v6 to Act 2008 premium and have encountered a number of issues during the conversion process.

To Date i have :-

created a blank copy of the DB within Act v6
Imported the old DB into this blank copy so that i am record manager for all records (was previously an issue due to records that had been deleted leaving orphaned entries).
Run Act Diag against this data which subsequently passed with all green ticks.
Re-index the DB in Act v6 then close Act
Open the DB within Act 2008 and run a custom conversion leaving all modified fields as is, the conversion process halts with the output below.

Converting Groups...
92 of 92 converted.
Converting Activities...
28602 of 28602 converted.
Converting Notes and Histories...
Exception occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020009 (DISP_E_EXCEPTION))

Sage support have suggested having the data looked at by a DB repair specialist (at a cost) as it seems that i have already done most of what they would have suggested anyway... i've googled the error code but all this bring back is stuff about sharepoint server... Any ideas anyone.

You could try deleting some of the older Note/History records prior to attempting conversion. In database maintenance, try deleting all notes/history older than 365 days (for example) and running the conversion again. If the corrupt data is archaic, this may allow the conversion to complete.

This would mean you'd fail to recapture some of the older data but the ACT 6 database could be retained as a source of reference where necessary.

Update :- I have a purchase order raised for Red Flags, should have a copy within the next few days.
Mike / Will thanks for your responses, I may well attempt to discard notes/history on a year by year basis as we still have alot of relevent customer data dating back to 2000. Will feedback the results.

I now have a copy of Red Flags - have run against the Act6 DB and am slowly working my way through some of the items flagged.
May need some additional advice in the coming weeks.

Could anyone tell me if Act uses any portion of Microsofts Sharepoint software.
