Accpac 5.1 Memory Replaced&Now Can not Access Many Features

Had to reinstall memory in computer and had some registry corruption

Now can not see the item description,edit or add new lines in OC in 5.1 a

Any ideas? Pevasive Engine running


Also can not see order using finder and must manually put in th order number

Reinstall windows, then rerun Accpac workstation setup.
 
Hi we reinstalled pervasive and windows .
I did repair on the 5.1a Accpac
still nothing
do I need to reinstall service packs?
or uninstall all accpac
and reinstall?
 
Delete _P.ISM for that user and company to reset the finder settings.
 
_P.ISM where may I ask is the file located in user/company? On workstation or Server?
 
gotcha.. do I then reboot server after delete and the workstation so it will be recreated?

It's been years since I worked on 5.1, so this is just a guess. See if you can find a copy of service pack 3 for System Manager - sm030625.exe, and run it on that workstation. It might have a "client only" install option.
 
You are AMAZING.
a. system manager worked but not pulling right forms
we assume this is Print boss and not Crystal Reports issue, is this right?
b. for moving this w/s set up to laptop, how do we handle the license issue to take off desktop and put onto laptop
c. we still have some corruption making troubleshooting hard as we go into network place and windows installer comes up for Office.
Do we just uninstall and reinstall?
 
a. I don't know. Up to this point, we've been talking about not having a finder, which is either a Windows control registration problem, or a corrupted settings (*.ISM) problem. When you say "not pulling the right forms", it sounds like the Customization Directory may not exist anymore.

b. Move the Accpac SharedData folder, it's at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACCPAC International, Inc.\ACCPAC\Configuration\SharedData

c. If Windows installer is coming up, then do a full uninstall/reinstall. FWIW, this problem doesn't happen on a clean XP install.

where do I check to see if Customization Directory there
 
1. Yes
2. Login as ADMIN, go to Administrative Services/Customization Directories.
