Hello All,
I installed an IP Office 500 about 2-3 years ago for a friend while I was working for a vendor. I used to have the flash drive with his config on it but seem to have misplaced it. I know longer work as a vendor or on IP Office, now he wants to gain access to his system so that they can keep up with basic programming changes. What should I do to help him get access.

do you remember the log in and password by chance?

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

You need the Manager software and the login credentials ( too often left on default which is Username = Administrator Password = Administrator ).
The latest Manager software can be downloaded here

Thanks for your quick replies. That download was what I was looking for, hopefully the username and pass are set to default. If not is it easy to reset? I don't remember if we changed it or not.

You need a serial cable, comms software like putty
Hook up the serial cable between a PC and the IP Office
Start putty, select serial comms, Com port and set speed to 38400
Start session and type AT, if you get a response then type
AT-SECURITYRESETALL followd by Enter
The system shoud respnd with something like this "Type "000E0045AD8"
Then just type the string it suggests 000E0045AD8 followed by enter
The system responds with "Security settings erased" or something like that
Now the logins are defaulted

I don't believe this.
When you have done this for a living you should still know how it works!
I wonder if you are trying to mislead us to gain access to a system where you should not have access.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It is all documented by Avaya and you can find it in a lot of threads on tek-tips so I don't see a problem.
There are even video's on the web detailing how and what to do....

tlpeter,

Sorry not everyone knows phone systems as well as you. If I was more experienced in IP Office I wouldn't be asking this question. I did this work with the help of co-workers a while back. It was my first IP Office install and I never had the chance to really get to learn them. I mostly worked on the old systems and did all the cable work for this company. Don't you have better things to do than post things like this, making accusations that I would be looking for this info to do something malicous is inappropriate. I guess you must have been perfect from day one when you started working on phone systems.

intrigrant- thank you for your help.

I would advise you friend to speak to his maintainer about this, they should be more than capable of providing him with the Manager application & basic admin training.

otherwise he may be in for a nasty (and expensive) surprise if he makes changes that break the operation of the system.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

The members here are quite (self)protecting and only wants the best for every Avaya user ( me included! )
So from time to time they get P*ssed if a inexperienced start asking pre-beginners questions ( me included sometimes... depends how the working day went ;)
Yes, you should better call your maintainer and yes DIY can ruin the programming of the system and yes, there is a crisis going on and some comapanies just cannot afford the visit of a ( expensive ) maintainer. So members, be helpfull and compassionate to any one unless they obviously don't deserve that, that is my good intention for 2014.
