Hi Everyone,

I support an IP Office system at a church running version 11.0. I want to upgrade it to 11.1 to address some bugs. They purchased the system from a popular online vendor at my recommendation, in turn, they licensed it to the church with me as the installer via their Avaya Business Partner.

I can't create a account with Avaya because they don't recognize the church's number as a customer. I have the original records from purchase that confirm they have the correct info. Now the Avaya Business Partner claims I can't access the site without a service agreement. Well, if I had that we would have them upgrade the thing.

Is there another way to go about this I am missing?

Thanks,
Trey

Hmm. You should have the old licence file somewhere, right?
Since it is on 11.0 it is indeed PLDS licenced so in that XML-file the valid customer info should be visible.
You might also still have the email with the last LAC code for this system?

Not sure if it helps but maybe you'll get closer to the solution.

Ask the Avaya Business Partner for the FL # which will then allow you to order the 11.1 upgrade license under the same hierarchy. Once you have the 11.1 upgrade LAC the PLDS system will automatically allow the existing licenses to be managed at the same time, although you'll still need help from someone with a PLDS login. Let me know if you need a hand with that.

It does seem that you can't download from PLDS if you have paid for the upgrade but don't have a contract.

First off, thanks everyone for the help. I really appreciate it.

joul, I do have that file.

atcom, I verified I have the correct Functional Location number. They are telling me I shouldn't have to worry with the license since the upgrade from 11 to 11.1 can be accomplished with the generic download (a part of the current Manager download?) and leaves the licenses in place. They also indicated I could pay for what sounded like an extended warranty and be able to get what I need. If we have to go that route does atcom sell in the US? If can I shift from one partner to another?

Thanks Again,
Trey

WARNING: Before you attempt to upgrade to 11.1: If you have any combo cards whose COMCODE is 700476013, DO NOT PROCEED. Those are the older variety and 11.1 will not recognize them. Most likely your boards will be 700504556, which are okay but please check first. Boards aren't hot-swappable, so you'll need to power down the IPO before sliding the cards out to check the sticker (on the electronics of the board--not the sticker on the front of the card).
