I have a customer with a Flash 2 voice mail and when I log in F983 and 1020000 I get the regular Mailbox AA Other. When I press AA the display reads "not allowed". What am I doing incorrectly?

Also, If you have a FLASH LITE it won't allow AA or CCR functions. It is a mailbox only machine. Go into Feature 983, 1020000, ok. Then press 99. What does it say? MRoberts

This does sound like it is a Flash Lite which has no auto attendant function. It can be upgraded to a fully functional Flash with the purchase of a keycode.

I'll check to see if it is a Lite. It shouldn't be because it had an AA with a CCR built. Then I added a 2 channel card and it cleared and now reads "not allowed". How do I upgrade it to make sure the Flash stays a Flash and not a lite.

Actually I just spoke to the tech onsite and he somehow put the customers old Flash Lite card in and then rebooted. Then he put the Flash card and the Flash 2 channel upgrade.

I have done a 983, 1020000, 1, reinstall, F903, F983 config, F983 1020000, and press AA still says "not allowed".
Release under 99 in F983 is the Flash not Flash Lite. The same number is in the release as the card. 2.10.1
Someone told me I need the key code to make the system recognize the pcmcia card? Go figure?

Anyhoo, what you have to do is to down grade the Flash software to a lower level such as 1.9. Then back up to 2.0. We've had this happen before..... See below:

SENARIO: This location has a CICS running 4.1 software. They are installing a flash voicemail having 2.0 light software instead of the standard 2.0 software. The customer configured the flash and now has discovered that auto attendant is not allowed. This is normal since it is light software. They defaulted the flash voicemail and installed standard 2.0 software. The auto attendant is still not
allowed.
Solution:
Down grade the Flash software to a lower level such as 1.9. You can not go lower than flash voicemail 1.9 in this situation since the KSU software is 4.1.
Procedure:
1. Flash voicemail with the 2.0 vml (light)
2. Power down Flash and remove 2.0 VML PCM/CIA card.
3. Power down flash and remove 2.0 VML PCM/CIA card
4. Install and configure flash with downgrade flash 1.9 VM software.
5. Power down and remove the 1.9 VM software, then install and configure
the flash with 2.0 VM software.
6. Test to verify the AA is available in programming.

The original post did not mention having standard Flash software, so that is why I mentioned purchasing a keycode to upgrade the Flash Lite to a full Flash. We have sold several of these keycodes to customers who didn't want to pay for another software card.
Another solution when changing software cards from Flash Lite to a full Flash is to open up the Flash unit and short the memory cap on the main board through a 100 ohm resistor. Of course this will default all programming on the Flash, but is a quick and dirty method of flushing out the Flash Lite configuration data.

My comment was in reference to someone telling him that he needed a keycode so that the Flash would recognize the PCMCIA card in the unit.
But yes, you can certainly purchase a keycode to upgrade the current Lite sw to standard sw.
