Hi. I'm hung up (no pun intended) and not sure where to go from here.

We have a Meridian Option 11c and I have 2 phones that do not have a dial tone on them, but other phones on the same analog card do. When you pick up the receiver all you get is a medium-quiet buzzing sound. I've even tried the posts on the block coming directly off the PBX where the lines terminate and I get the same thing.

I'm told this happened shortly after a storm, but it doesn't seem like the card is fried because other lines on this same card are working.

I'm relatively new to this stuff, so this is probably an obvious one for you guys.

Thanks.

You can have individual ports on a card go bad.

If you have a known good phone and you check at the frame and it is not good, then the port/ports are most likely bad.

You can try disabling the card and re-seating it. If the ports are still bad, then they are officially fried.

LD 32

.DISC X X (Option 11c Format prior Rls.5)
Disable the Card and Reseat

.ENLC X X
Enables the card

You could swap over cards during a quiet period if you have others working and see if it the problem moves....if so then you have faulty ports on that card

Cheers!!

Thanks, guys I'll try those things today and see how it goes.
Sorry for the delay in responding, I was out of the office yesterday.

Ok. The ports were dead. I swapped the card and we are good.

Thanks, guys!
