I'm trying to setup an Avaya 9611g to connect to my network via our VPN. It keeps failing at exchanging keys with IKE Phase 1 no response. I've tried all sorts of different settings on the phone but nothing seems to be working. Our firewall is a Cisco ASA 5510 with Xauth enabled. I'm not sure what I'm missing to get this phone to login to our VPN. Does anyone have an idea as to what else I can try?

I figured out what I was missing. I needed to have it set to PSK with Xauth, now I can see it hit the firewall but it just keeps starting the VPN connection over and over again.

Getting an error on the ASA "Keep-alives configured on but peer does not support keep-alives (type = none)". Trying to figure out how to enable keep alives on the 9611g.

Thanks for the doc teletechman. However, it doesn't cover adding the keep-alive to the phone portion. Our VPN is already up and running.

Isn't that the same as "Connectivity Check" ?

Don't you get any error on the phone?

I'm not sure what changed from yesterday to today but the phone connects just fine now. Once I manually entered the call server IP I was able to login with the user's extension. Thanks everyone!!
