ok, i test these every time a change is made to telco and/or annually.

Im running Cisco Unified Call Manager System version: 6.1.3.1000-16. I have 8 locations, this is happening to all 8.

The last time I tested it (early this year, no changes just a test) it worked. I could pick up the phone and press 911, call would go to the 911 center. I could also press 9911 and it would yield the same results.

Now when you dial 911 nothing happens. when I dial 9911, I am presented with dialtone again, but it does not sound like the normal DT that call manger uses. its almost like im being connected directly to the phone line.

Im using POTS at all the gateways. I have the route patterns setup the same as from installation (no changes or mods). The gateways have not been changed.

The only way to reach 911 is to: pick up phone, dial 9911, wait for abnormal dial tone, then dial 911 again.
At that point it routes ok as the address is being verified and matches the site it should.
Any ideas?

I would start by running DNA and see what path the 911 calls are taking and what is being passed to the PSTN.

where do I find that? I do not see it listed in the plugins.

disregard, I found the location. I will review and check back.
thanks,

Ok. After running the analyzer with multiple scenarios, all the results appear the same. These results also match the results I get when I use a number that is routed correctly. is there anything at the Gateway level that I should look at even though nothing has changed? I am planning on rebooting the system tonight after hours.

are your gateways h323 or mgcp? if h323 it could be an issue with your dial-peers.
i doubt a reboot will fix it but worth a try.
can you post the dna output and your dial-peers if you are doing h323?

held off on the reboot.
All GWs are h323.

what might be happenning is you are not matching the right dial-peer, therefore the delay to connect. Debbuggimg your dial-peers should show you which one ypu are using.
Also try this:
On your first dial-peer:
dial-peer voice 9101 pots

add this command:

direct-inward dial

then give it amother shot.

well. I did some research and tried adding "prefix 911" to my dial peers that have "destination-pattern 911".
we successfully tested this at each location.
Thanks for all your help.
