8434DX display not working

The main phone on our system is not working it is an 8434 DX and only the display is not working. I have swapped the phone with another and it is exactly the same. So my question is does anyone know of a common fault that may cause this.

It should have a seperate power source. Make sure that hasn't gone out or the power strip it is on isn't out....

It has to get power from somewhere. You may be expecting the power to be plugged directly to the phone but it's not. It's usually a transformer that has an 8 conductor cable (RJ45 mod ends) plugged in at the phone jack.

The 8434 series needs an auxilary power supply
Page 8-9 has a list of them. I use the KS-22911 L1/L2

Had the same problem, swapped out the phone to only have it happen again. Replaced the power box, and never had the problem again on a secretaries phone.

Thanks to everyone for replying. You of course were correct, on closer inspection I found the power supply and tested it and as expected it was faulty.
