Upgraded my demo IP500 system

All went OK except 5610SW IP Handset

Went thru Firmware upgrade OK

ON reboot loaded down settings file via TFTP but no display no present

Can ping IP handset

No extension no listed in System Status

System Status alarms shows hundreds of occurances of 'Attempt to use a feature for which no licence available' Licence Type = IP End Point

Seems to imply the system does not recognise the 5610SW as an Avaya device therefore no licence no working unit

Did you try a HOLD C L E A R # ?

I have a site with 4.2 and 5610SW's. I have noticed lots of IP Endpoint and Conferencing Centre issues in SSA, neither of which we have tried to use!!!

not causing any noticable problems. 80+ (5602/5610) IP phones working without issue.

No VPN firmware.

When booted up the 5610SW loads the image file i10d0a2_887.bin

I have been informed by another user that his 5610SW loads image file i10d0a2_3.bin and is working OK

I have tried the HOLD CLEAR command.

This just clears the units settings

I need to know how to force a reload of the image firmware BIN file

try HOLD RESET

On this, I tried this onsite and didn't work either. I did speak to someone who thinks the rest doesn't work if you are on PoE switches, only when you have an inline power brick. Maybe it needs a little more power to flash the phone.

Not sure about it myself as I didn't have one to try.

I have the 2_887 running on loads of 5610SW phones without a problem on site and a couple in house.

1.) Make sure the 46xxUpgrade.scr is pointing to the firmware you want loaded.
2.) Power off the phone for about 1 minute, then power it back on. If the phone is not off for long enough it keeps the old settings.
3.) It pull the 46xxUpgrade.scr from the TFTP server and follow the instructions contained in the script.

Hello

I'm having the same problem with some of my IP Phones.

At the moment, it's 3 phones, there are doing the same.

There are all 4610SW phones.

For now, I have tryed 3 different *.bin files for the phones, and non of them helps.
The rest of the phones, there are working, are running a mix of 2_8_3 and 2_887.
All working fine.

Now I have deletet the extension, and the user, and will now try to create it all once again, though the phone.

Is someone else, knows a work around, or a fix to this problem, please let me know.

P.

I have found a way though this problem.

I deletet the extension and the user, for with the phone did'nt logon, and createt them again.

Now the are working.

Question: What are you good ad?
Answer: I'm GOOD in bed.
Yesterday I slept 9 hours.

Found my problem Egg on Face Time !!

Went thru config and found a VOIP Line entry with same IP address as my 5610

Not sure how VOIP line came to be on system I blame one of our trainers playing with the Demonstration system.

Anyway deleted VOIP line entry and all is now fine

Thanks everyone for your comments / suggestions.

No entries in Error log, so system does not check for duplicated IP addresses . Maybe a request for the next release
