Having major echo problems on a 6.0 so we upgraded to 7.0 to see if problem clears. (It did not) Also running all 9620 sets. Tried installing a 5610 just to see if the phone model made a difference. But after installing the extension number comes up but no buttons are programmed (Manager says there are)and cannot use phone. System status says classmark unknown under phone type. Manager says other phone type. Cannot find this error in google. Anyone come across it before?

I have seen this error with 1408 and 1416 phone after an upgrade of the phones.
A reboot of the ipoffice cleared the error.
The phone did not work when i saw this error.

But major echo is not a software fault.
How is the network configured?
Create a voice vlan so that you will not have anything to do with the data network.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I already tried a reboot. It did not fix the problem. We do not believe the echo is on our side since there is no echo on internal calls. The voice and data networks are totally separate using different equipment. We are in the process of working with the local dial tone vendor about the echo. I have just never seen the classmark unknown error before.

Thank you for your response.

I can´t say anything about the echo problem (sounds like a network problem though, not the phones). However, the problem with the 5610s with the blank screens Ive seen before. Erase the button configuration for the user and try logon again. Once you´re logged on you can add the buttons again. Preferably use a "user right" for the buttons.

I would say its your network also. What is your QQS set at.I had the same nd it was the layer 3 switch. You can try
changing the codec preference to G.729(a)8k if you have it set to to G711 ulaw that uses a big bandwith. My trouble was in the switch it need to be ajust there and it cleared it up..

sagbab -> Tried what you said the day I put it in. Also tried creating a new user. No avail. Tried another 5610 today. Same thing. I think it is a software bug. The first 5610 was at 2_9_1 firmware. The second was 2.887 and would not upgrade. Checked all the obvious and the correct files were on the memory card.

ghidra -> 9620's have what appears to be the latest firmware. 3.11b. Unless there is a newer one I don't know about.

Justatec -> tried setting all the phones to G711 when the problem was first noticed. QoS not required. The voice and data are on different cable structures using different physical equipment. There are no call quality errors on this side of the PRI according to system status.

Just put a digital phone in today to see if the problem happens on it.

Thank you all for your help.

So you have voice & data on physically separate networks. Is the IP Office LAN and phones set to Auto or 100Mb? What kind of switches are you using? Does the echo occur on both internal and external calls?
No call quality errors in system status. Just guessing- either a glitch in IP Office, or problem with phones?

I was using 2 vlans so i changed it from G711 to G729. And it did help.Sorry didnt know what type of network..

And under the advanced setting in the phones i turned off..Headset and handset and spearker settings to off that helps too for each set.

This fixed the echo???
Then you do not have enough bandwidth.

ghidra -> I did not check the speeds of the ports. Someone else set the extreme switches up. These are old switches that were upgraded to the latest firmware. Echo is on external only.

Justatec -> We were set at 729 then went to 711. Customer said call quality was much better. I also tried the handset agc off when they first noticed it. To see if it stopped on handset and still had it on speaker. Didn't change anything though. Still have the echo.

Tipeter -> I will have the data guys check the bandwidth. Not sure what speeds the network is capable of. This is a bunch of lawyers who are constantly on the phone.

Thank you to everyone again.

ghidra -> Yes. The project manager opened one. They are having us do the old song and dance routine. So it may take a few weeks to get this resolved.
