Bizarre problem - an established system IPO 500 V2 r9.1 - T-1 PRI. Has been working for years, carrier company was providing "masking number" so all calls out were the same caller ID. Return calls then went to AA. Client wanted two 'main numbers' and an option for personal DIDs to show own numbers. I arranged for the carrier to drop the mask and allow authenticated numbers on this account to go out and complete.
As expected, 'real'DIDs call out and non-DIDs were 'denied'. I went to the short code of each non-DID and entered the proper info to show the non-DID number as as an authorized account number. There are six front desk numbers (non-DID) and this works - calls go out. Added the short codes to DID stations who selected that they wanted the main number to show - this works.
Selected the three stations of the 'second' help desk and entered the short code info for their 'main' number - identical to the front desk except for the last four digits. The number is authorized on the account. The stations are all 9508. Programming - including the short codes - is identical. One calls out - two show 'denied'.
I keep a 5410 on the wall of the IT room for testing and to keep from running up and down stairs. I plugged it in directly to the DS30 (V2) (current upload - identical to all system components)and it will call out. Plug in a spare 9508 - it will not. The three ports are sequential on the DS30. System status shows each station the same - no forwarding, twinning, DND.
There is no carrier restriction on how many calls with the same ID can go out as the primary ID is used concurrently multiple times. And I entered the primary main number and is also is blocked.
Rebooted the system after hours to no effect.
The common denominator is the use of a 9508 on the port (denied) or a 5410 (call completes)!
Help?
Thanks all
