We have a MXe running MCD 4.2 SP2 PR1 and Im setting up a new 5340 phone and the labeling doesn't appear. I have tried to label directly from the phone and via MCD web interface but nothing gets displayed on the phone.

Any assistance would be appreciated..

thanks

Do have all the HCI opitons turned on in the COS for the set?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

thanks for the quick response.

Both of these options below are Yes:
HCI/CTI/TAPI Call Control Allowed
HCI/CTI/TAPI Monitor Allowed

Tried more then one set?

We have other 5340 sets in use that work fine, but this was the only one i had new in a box that i setup yesterday. The function for the key works ok, just no label appears. The only label that appears is for the assigned directory number.. I replaced a 5212 with the 5340 by simply changing the model and mac address, but then i went ahead and deleted the phone and recreated it thinking it might fix the problem which it didnt.

Hi, Have you seen "application loading" when the phone starting up? If no, try to delete --> create the extension.

thanks for the follow-up. I did fianlly resolve this in the morning by removing the mac address , rebooting phone and registering as a new handset which was "###1234 hold key". Typing in the MAC didnt initialize the self labeling for some reason..
