Hi

I have recently upgraded a client's system from MCD4.2 to MCD6. They have a MXE 3300 running 5330's, 5212' and 5302's. After the upgrade the DHCP options gave us hell. I had to remove the VLAN ID from the Mitel option 125 on the mitel to get the IP phones to boot, the 5302's worked fine with the VLAN ID in place or without them. This site has a combination of HP and Alcatel switches and I now have a bizarre issue where the 5302's boot fine on an alcatel switch but not on any HP procurve switches. The core switch is a HP 5406 and only when you make a port a voice only port does a 5302 boot. The voice only port does not even help on any HP edge switch.

The network config is very basic, only 2 Vlans. 1 x data and 1 x voice. I work on Procurve switches as well and have not seen this before. The config is correct, can't work on Alcatel switches to compare.

Any ideas? This was never an issue on MCD4.2

5302's are SIP not minet so it could be something to do with that?

Thanks for the help guys,
I had to remove the vlan ID information from the Option 125 on the client's data dhcp server as well for the 5302 to work fine.
