@Escorthosis
Yeap. The info matches what I need to make DTMF work. But still I have reports of clients claiming that they get stuck in the middle of our Auto-attendant menus.

@bas1234
Are you kidding me?

Using SIP trunks, this happens to be too. Only with VMPRO. I can't log into check my voicemail anymore. If you look at the trace, extra digits seem to appear. If I hit 1 once, you'll see 1 and then 1 again.

Also, it happens with DIDWW and CallCentric. Very interesting. Now for the real clincher, I can use FNE (i.e. Mobile Twinning features) without an issue. I can transfer, make calls, voice announce, etc. All this, without a problem. Digits appears one at a time. It's only when I get into VMPro that digits seem to repeat themselves.

@Drew2400
At last some one honest!! Drew, what should we do? Cause I notice we can make outside phone calls and access outside auto-attendants with no issues. But when it comes to incoming calls to our IPO VMP then our TDM and sometimes even SIP callers cant seem to hve patience in dialing menu options. Even worse when it comes from GSM users, these guys cant really get any DTMF recognition at all. I ve already paid for Standard to Pro license and HOPE that Avaya Administration have people intelligent enough to act ethically correct by correcting this HORRIBLE issue on it's next upgrade to come on version 4.2 (Something).
Today is Carnival in Brazil and I spent my whole morning from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM, testing my Internet connection by migrating to Static IP transmission, hoping that this would be the reason why DTMF didt work with stability. Turns out, it didnt work out.
So, tomorrow I will be back to my office, to reprgram our 10 licenses SIP trunk to work on Dynamic 6MB Internet Connection. Cause I have to wait this long to have my internet connection migrated from Static to Dynamic again. WHAT A CHAOS!!!
So, just HOPING is what I keep on doing now.... HOPING for a miracle, HOPING that there are still good people in Avaya ...

this must be one of the longest threads, pity the gooogler typing any tek tip phrase on the above.

@NoelO, you need to post a sip trace and a list of sip settings in full when the error occurs, including System settings and short codes on your pbx for any SIP problems

Well, thinking about this. We should probably form a new thread with regards to this. It sounds like it's an issue that could be addressed.

TheTaker:
I have traced it. And it shows 2 or more hits on the the same digit.

Interesting....

@Drew2400
Definity Drew... And Ive reported this issue to Avaya Brazil, since IPO version 4.1. But still no answer from them. Ive actually visited Avaya Office here in Sao Paulo, talked to one IPO Specialist and he had recognized this issue and he had told me that On March 2009 there would be a 4.3.0 Release.

I once saw refernce to 4.2 in a email signature from an Avaya rep. I wonder is they scrapped it a favour of going straight to 5.0.

A bit of a reverse of releasing 3.2 because 4.0 was taking too long!!!!

what? 4.2 has been out for a while now.

I think he meant 4.3 :)

>I think he meant 4.3

Nope, I am sure he meant 4.2, but he does come from the deprived bit of Leeds. All the IPOs he fits are steam-driven and have piece-of-string trunk modules

My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

I was wondering did the info you received mention anything about the TDM version of the 1600 series handsets?

I can understand why Avaya want to charge for the upgrade with a license but it needs to be affordable. I know Nortel do this at the moment and it is great when you get new features but as long it is not one of the situations were you have to be a level x to receive support.

No it didn't, they are introducing a new 1603SW (PC connection) version to the series. But no Dig version.

I have stopped with the steam driven modules as they get a bit damp.

We have now upgraded to the modules that include yogurt pots on the string!!!!!

Unified Dect ?

What the advantages respect the existing IP Dect?

Looks interseting doesn't it, I prefer the IP DECT handsets though, the Unified ones look like a kids Action Man walkie talkie or something, but it may be that they have developed their own kit this time, IP DECT was Detewe kit rebranded.

@ IPhello
Do you think there's a chance or tendency for Avaya IPO New Release 5.0.x to enable IPO IP500 as a Router?Like those IP PBXs you can find in the market? Just so you don't have to depend lots of money on very EXPANSIVE QoS SIP ALG routers?
I need to solve our SIP trunk issues as soon as possible, but I hate the idea of possibly wasting lots of money on a router that may become useless in the near future.
Does anybody know if Edgewater EM 4500-10 is the best QoS, SIP compliant router for 10 SIP channels to work smoothly in our IPO SIP trunk? Any suggestions?
Cause the actual Linksys BEFSR41 may be the problem for our SIP trunk malfunctions.

I just don't like the idea of using the PBX as a router/firewall for your Internet traffic. We very often will split the inbound Ethernet off the DSL/Cable/IAD using a low cost switch and dump one connection into LAN2/WAN on the IP Office and the other into the customer's router/firewall which works well especially if the DSL/Cable/IAD can do QoS (although I seriously question the need for QoS over the public Internet). I just hate to take down both the Internet access and the PBX every time I do a reboot on the PBX.

@ Kholladay

You re right ! :)

@ Anyone !!!!! HELPPPPPP!!!

Can you suggest the best QoS router for IPO IP 500 SIP Trunk? I believe Linksys BEFSR41 isnt the best one, since VMP cannot detect the DTMF tones generated by our incoming SIP phone calls.
Outgoing SIP phone calls, however, can perfectly detect DTMF tones, with no issues reported.
What router would you use on one Avaya IPO IP 500 SIP Trunk?

Any help appreciated...

NoelOhashi noone tests more than Juniper as they actually run Avaya in house however cost maybe an issue
