I am trying to install another IP4624 phone and I keep getting a password error.

I don't remember having to enter this on the lasdt IP phone I put in place. Also which password do they mean? I look in the administrator's documentation and didn't find any info about which password.

Thanks for any help...

There is only 2 passwords that you need to look at.

The system one, that's the one you use when you use manager to call of the system config.

The other is under the user tab in the user tree. By default these are blank but can be put in. It may well be that someone has entered here. If you blank it then no password is needed. You cannot read the password but can delete or change it here if you have the correct rights.

Hope this helps.

It's the phone that is asking for a password. I set up one of these phones before and I do not remember the other IP phone asking for a password. Is this something new in 2.1?

The password it's asking for is definately the one on the user tab in the user form.

Note: if you are using the auto-create extn feature and using the hardphone to create a new extension, instead of pre-configuring a voip extension through manager - you cannot put a blank password, but must enter one. Try simply entering 1234 as a password in this case.

I figured it out. I had the IP address of the phone hardcoded in the Extension form/ VoIP tab.
