hey guys

i have a 4621sw that i just took out of the box. when i plug it up, it tries to grab DHCP. it doesnt give me the option to program it manualy. it just sits in the DHCP mode??? i dont get the "press * to program" option??

is there something i need to do after i plug it up?

we have set out a lot of the 4620sw sets and those come up fine. the only phone giving me a problem is the 4621sw??

appearently not.
Start the phone without a network connection, it will say "no network" then press Hold2337#
You should be able to change the IP settings from there

Even if it is asking for a DHCP address you should still be able to hit * to program.

hey guys....

thanks for the replys....

ive tried to do the above with no luck. what ever i do, nothing works....the only thing it does after i plug the phone up is goes right to saying....DHCP and starts a count.

do i have to load any software on it?? or could it be bad?

thanks again!!

it wont let me check the ip settings even if i dont have ip plugged up to the network.

it is trying to load a bin file a20d01b2_8.bin, 2129KB. im not sure where it got this file???

The sets are shipped with a certain .bin file to load, then when they look for a TFTP server if there is an newer version of the file available, they will download it.

Is this a standard 4621 phone set, or is it perhaps a 4621 setup for One-X Quick Edition?

I have had a phone today which did exactly the same and it was not a One-X phone.
After 30 minutes i gave up (i have just enough patience for half an hour, beyond that i usually start throwing things against the wall or demolish it any other way) and took another station.

I have had a lot of issues with 5621's lately. Comming up and then going into constant reboot. I havent figured out the fix yet. i dont have one here to play with.

Have seen this a few times, the * to program disapears.
Never manage to figure out what happened and never solved the problem. Had to get a new phone.
Try start a case with Avaya or send it back to them.
