I bought a couple 4610SW phones off eBay and realized they were one-x phones. I need them to work with my IP office, I can't get anything to work on them (resetting, etc.) Is there a way to get the firmware reset, or what do you suggest I do with these? I can't even figure out how to manually enter in information, as hitting * when they boot doesn't do anything. Thanks for any suggestions you have.

That is a long time ago i id that.
Download this file and use the tool to convert them:

Thanks for the download link, I don't know the system password for these phones, is there a default one? or a way to reset the phones?

There is a password generator for that in the zip file

Thanks again for your help, I don't want to bug you but I dont see that, I see the two programs

Avaya_one-X_QE_Repurposing_Wizard_v3.2.19102007

Avayaone-XQERepurposingKeyGenv32190907

I've extracted everything, I see all the load files, the readmes, everything.

The second one is the key generator.
But you better read the doc that is included.

To return a 4610SW/4621SW IP telephone to factory settings
1. At the telephone that you want to reset, access the System Options menu as described in
Accessing the System Options menu on page 9.
2. Select Set Management on the System Options menu, or press 2 on the dialpad.
3. Select Freshstart on the Set Management menu, or press 5 on the dialpad.
4. When you are prompted to remove and refresh the telephone settings, select the Yes
softkey.
Freshstart Done is displayed when the procedure completes.

It has been a long time since I fought with these abominations of phones. I feel your pain.

Is the Repurposing_Wizard the TFTP ? I have successfully created the key, but the repurposing wizard will not let me continue without the password.

That is what the tool is made for, to convert One-X Quick edition phones to regular H.323 IP Phones.

Okay, I was able to update the firmware using the tools provided. Since I did not have the admin pin to the phone I had to reset to factory defaults. on the QE phones you need to power it up holding the options button, then select set to factory defaults. Once you reset to factory defaults you will be able to create and admin pin. Once you have the admin pin you can use the Repurposing Wizard to update the firmware. You will need to run the Avayaone-XQERepurposingKeyGenv32190907 to create a key before you run the Repurposing wizard, to create the key you will need the MAC of the phone (which can be found when you boot it up) When you type in the MAC make sure you put a decimal : between each pair of numbers/letters (00:11:A3: etc) if you don't do that it will not work. Thanks for all the help everyone. I can now use these phones with IPOffice

ALso, I want to mention that the Repurposing Wizard contains the TFTP server, it will launch from the Repurposing Wizard. (make sure you allow on your firewall)
