IPO 500v2 7.0 (12){replaced old 4xx)
4420 set with 4450 connected.
4420 is connected to a DIG DCPx30 V2 module. (from old 4xx System)

Problem:
The DSS Keys do not light.

The phone works.
The DSS keys perform they're programmed funciton, they just don't light when the User programmed to the button goes off-hook.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

When you upgraded the DG30 module did you go to 3.2.99 1st?

Sorry CarGoSki ... 4424 set with a 4450 module

NYSTECH:
Please excuse my ignorance. I've only been working with this product for about a year. So I started at IPO 500v2 Rls 6.0.
The DG30 was on a 406v2.
We just plugged it into the 500v2, assuming it would update firmware as needed.
Did we miss an undocumented step?

Thanks for your time!

With the DG 30 V2 Module there is an intermediate step that needs to be done to them.. Not sure what your old version of software was on the IP400 system you had.but the DG 30 ve need to go to 3.299 then upgrade to 7.0,x.. You will see the files in the manager folder. You can have some weird thing happen if you do not... It is in the tech bulliten about upgrading.

NYSTECH ....
The 406 was 3.1.
Is it difficult to downgrade the module then upgrade again?
It is done via manager?

Thanks again!

If your not sure how to do it.. You have options.. get a Business partner or Do some reasearch and read the tech tips and manuals..

This sounds like a SBM24 connected to a 96x1 phone.
The keys work but the light does not burn.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You might also try reprogramming a button or two to see if those buttons start working. I had this happen on a system where I had to reprogram all the buttons even though they showed as programmed in Manager. Once reprogrammed, they all worked as they were supposed to again.

Well ... I am a Business Partner, just lacking experience on the IPO. I've only been working with the product for only a year and this was the first upgrade from a 406 rls 3.1 to a 500v2 rls 7.0.

I did research this problem before posting here and found tips relating to the 2nd 4450 installed on a 4424 not lighting, but I only have 1 4450, so I wasn't sure it applied.
I guess I'll do some additional research into the module firmware.

Telecomboy - when you reconfigured the buttons, did you clear them first, save/merge, the reconfig, save/merge ... or did you use the set to config the buttons?

Thanks again all ... learning all the nuainces of a new product is tough and I'm grateful to those of you willing to share your knowledge and experience!

I erased the buttons via Manager, merged it, then added them back, merged it. I did this to one button at first to see if it did anything. When it worked, I then did it for the rest of them.

It is a bug:

CQ42006 DSS/BLF lamps on 4450s no longer light on user status changes. 7.0.5 SP_RELEASE_3Q11_7.0 3-Available 7.0.126402

Fixed in next maintenance release.

I had the same issue with a 4424 with one 4450 DSS when we changed out a customer from a 406v1 (very old - was in fact the first IPO we sold and installed back in 2002). The new system was on 7.0.5 at the time and we just ended up changing the 4424 and 4450 with a new 1416 with a DBM 32 module.

Just don't tell them, good excuse to sell them a new handset, those 4400's are long in the tooth now, and fugly :)

Thanks for the replies folks.

tlpeter nailed it spot on.

I opened a case with Avaya yesterday and they are going to get me the fix ASAP. The customer doesn't want to wait for the next update.

Thanks to all for the assist!
