Hi,

At midnight daily routine my meridian failed to switch cpu.
The digital screen of the cp card indicates "44 PER SIG 4"
Does anyone can help me?

It's in "disable not responding" status!
I remove the card and put it back...
I change the card by a new one...
I restart the 3PE card...
I verify the connection between 3Pe and CNI...
I test and verify CNI cards...
and nothing!
I'm perplexed!

is the per sig still not responding? if so change it with a good one, if it test good then go do a enl rudn in 137.. make sure all cpu switches are norm

I've already change the per sig without changes!
I try to make a Test CPU (ld 135) with this result:

HWI534 CMB: Synchronization of memories begun: CP 1 master
BUG6247 EvtColl: AAL file access error.
HWI533 CMB: Synchronization of memories completed

Then I try to switch CPU (overlay 135 SCPU):

HWI212 NCB 0 2: masking interrupt "IO"
failed to detect source of this interrupt 129 times
Check operation on stand-by side

CCED762 SWO 0: Graceful switch-over to side 0 completed
Previous Graceful SWO: at 0/0/00 0:00:00

CCED000
CNI066 cnipMon - Switchover requested; side 1 is deemed better
Check hardware or ENL disabled hardware on suspect side

HWI212 NCB 1 2: masking interrupt "IO"
failed to detect source of this interrupt 129 times
Check operation on stand-by side

CCED762 SWO 1: Graceful switch-over to side 1 completed
Previous Graceful SWO: at 30/8/04 16:01:42

At this time every things seems right but as I try to have an explanation of HWI212 error by doing a stat cni my system went once again off!

ld 137
stat

post that one here

looks like a bad cni card.. do a test cni on the standby.. a bad cni can forc a persig down

also make sure your not running rls 15 cni in any switch past rls 21.. rls 12 13 14 or 16 and above are fine

Found it was a cni problem!
But as I try to test it, it failed and my system went down.
My PS 4 is group 2 and so refers to CNI in slot 13.
I've change both CNI cards and error persist.
I've also change PS card without any change.
The last thing I've to do is to change associated 3PE card!!!

Is it possible that the problem is a software problem?

I don't think it's a rls conflict because it was working until now!

no as you have found out the cpu test the cni across the bus, a bad 3pe might be the prob, but at this poing i would be thinking cpu
