Just a heads up here. We had a number of customers switch to 3CX in order to send their staff to work from home and many of them liked the option! Now (here in OZ) people are returning to work and want to hybriize the two. And well this week we effectively managed to achieve an acceptable solution. There is no way we can get presence or any of the finer features working but we set our sights on getting system to system dialling, and indial with CLI working in both directions and we achieved that this week. There will be a write up (TIB)coming from TAC Australia in the not too distant future. I will link to it when it is available. The beauty of this is the ease of adding mobile extensions but check 3CX out for yourselves.

No, 3CX is an IP based free PBX that has an amazingly easy way of connecting a mobile app as an extension. It can basically make an SBC obsolete but just to be on the safe side they even have a downoadable free SBC.

We had a big take up of this product due to the Covid-19 pandemic as people wanted to work from home. I decided to see if we could integrate the two because we had companies returning to the office and struggling to decide whether to buy desk based handsets for the 3CX (such as Yealink or Grandstream) or lose the flexibility of the mobile solution. With integration, they get the best of both worlds and we get to retain them as NEC customers. Oh and not that it would be of interest here but we have also managed this with Alcatel OXO now.
