I have a 3300 and want to get voicemail to email working
I have advanced voicemail / have added the email IP in system options / and programmed a user under vm box
what do I have to do on the email server, and do I need a name in system options under sender name

any advice would be great
Thanks

It is really depend on policy for your email server.
Generally you have to have DNS A and PTR records for you phone system. Email server should allow sending emails from IP network where the phone box is located and relay to destination domain.

what's the DNS A and PTR records?

A" allows to resolve names to IP
"PTR" allows to resolve IP to names.

most of email servers require PTR record of sender host or have a policy to allow any senders from specific network.

Thanks slapin
just one other
do I need a name in system options and if so what
would it be i.e mitel@10.24.12.11 which is the mitel IP

I don't have anything in that field. VM application uses First_Name@icp_dns_name.com sender format. It will resolve it if you have correct PTR record. If not it will be
First_Last@10.24.12.11
