Hi-

Some of our users can't dial "certain" cell phone numbers.

From our system - we dial 8 to get an outside line.

Then, Dial 1+ Area Code and Number.

Lately - our local area Telco has changed how users dial their numbers before...

I can Dial my cell with teh ARea Code + Prefix.

Though another user has a home cell phone that cannot dial their number anymore.

Even when she tries 1 + Area Code or just the 7 digit number.

This process has worked in the past - this time I think we have a programming issue in the 3300.

We have a DID range that use 608661 and 8701 - 8760 allocated by our Telco.

Because the user's cell number also started with 8,7XX - that corresponds to an inside/internal extension on the 3300.
Make sense?

And the recording we get is...
"Your call cannot be completed as dialed".

I can dial thsi number from my cell phone but not within our company via the 3300 system.

What can I do?
Thanks for any help?

Thanks - but can I assign mpore than one Outside Dial number?

Meaning - use 8 for outside dial & use 9 for an outside dial as well?

Make sense?

Thx.

Yes you can. We have sites like hotels where staff dial 9 and guests dial 8 for outside calls. Use all the same trunks and everything so its not a problem.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Cool - thanks.

I'm going to use that route but may need some help in configuring.

Thanks.

You can pretty much duplicate what you already have. You are just creating a new dial string for "9". Use the same route, trunk groups etc unless you have something funky.

Hi LoopyLou-

Thank you for your continued help.

Is it possible that you could tell me what forms I need to check or make sure to change in order to accomplish adding another outside dial?

Like I mentioned - I am a novice - a systems Admin - not a phone admin - never any training and we have no support!
Not my decision - I just look up the help options and post to this forum...
I sift thru all forms and try to piece together phone setups, etc.
We had a previous company switch our SX2000 to a 3300 a few years back.

So - I think I have to use the ASR and another form below it.
As far as trunks - I'm not clear how to use - I would just copt other settings for anything I see related to the current ARS/leading digits.

Is there a help option that can help me started?

Thanks for any hints, clues or resources.

I would make a note (or export) ARS 8
create a new ARS 9 and copy all the entries from ARS in e.g.
01 unknown digits to follow route 1
02 9 digits to follow route 2 etc.

when you have copied the numbers and routes in to ARS 9 you can the delete ARS 8 (so none of your numbers will clash anymore)

If you take an export of ARS 8 if you are not happy or something is not right you can always re import ARS 8 or refer to it for any mistakes

Supernova has covered it.
