Good morning,

I have run into another issue with Softphones. I am working with a Mitel 3300 virtual/Physical 3300 icp system with SIP trunks and 3320 & 3330 IP phones.
MiCollab 7.2.1.13
MiVoiceBusiness installed OVA version 7.2.1.24

I don't know if anyone here has experecen with Voice4Net, but it a call center application that monitors the Agents Phone/Extension via MiTAI.
However, it seems that the Mitel softphone does not support MiTAI.

Is this a true statement? Or is there a way to configure a Mitel softphone so that it will support MiTAI?

Thanks for your help on this,

Carl

Carl,

There are two ways to configure a softphone, one as a SIP softphone and the other as a Minet softphone. It looks like you might have configured a SIP softphone rather than a minet softphone.

I dont have any experience setting up the minet softphone as I have only needed a SIP softphone. I believe the only config change is in the PBX. For the softphone extension, make sure it is programmed as a 5020 IP set.

MiCollab Client Admin Guide 7.2.2 said:
The MiCollab Client Minet softphone must be programmed correctly in the MiVoice Business system. In the User Configuration form (MiVoice Business v4.1 or later), in order to have resiliency the MiCollab Client Minet softphone must be programmed on the MiVoice Business as 5020 IP set type .

I would consult the Micollab client admin guide for more info.

Thank you, JCarmichael. This is working part way.

It seems that the system is setup so that I cannot Dial a softphone at the softphone ext. e.g. 61*61. Is this a setting that I can enable?

If it is a multi device licensed set, the answer is no

The MiNET device is working but I am having a problem with it. Upon first load, I have to go into the Configuration-->Softphone setting and toggle off and apply, then toggle on and apply, to get the softphone to connect. The same is true if I exit the MiCollab client and reload it, or reboot the computer. Also, I have to reset the Mic and Speaker settings every time the client is reloaded.
This is affecting every user that is configured as a MiNET 5020 IP device.
If a user is configured as a UC Endpoint (SIP) device, we do not have this problem.

Has anyone ever dealt with this issue or have ideas on a possible resolution?
I have disabled the Windows Defender AV, which was the only suggestion so far from Mitel Support, to no avail.

I though that perhaps it could be the folder permissions. The permissions for the directory are as follows:
C:\Users\choward\AppData\Roaming\Mitel\UC\choward
SYSTEM, Me, Administrators: Full control
I have not made any changes to file or folder permissions.

I have copied the user.config file and then compared the changes on start and after I have made the softphone connect.
The only difs are:
WebSocketSessionID:
filled in the working config
is blank in the on load config

LastContactSyncPerformed:
filled in the working config
is blank in the on load config

LastPimSync:
filled in the working config
is blank in the on load config

SoundMicrophone:
filled in the working config
is blank in the on load config

SoundSpeaker:
filled in the working config
is blank in the on load config

I found the solution to my last post...

I had originally setup the users as SIP devices. So this config. was still in the user.config file. So to fix the problem I completely exited the MiCollab Client, and deleted the user.config file which is located:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mitel\UC\<USERNAME>@<DOMAINNAME>.com\user.config

Then I relaunched the MiCollab Client and the softphone connects now automatically as it should.
