Has anyone heard any updates to when Mitel is going to be releasing 8.1 into the wild?

8.1 or 8.0UR3? UR3 is scheduled to release on Feb 29th, I don't think there will be an 8.1; last I heard the next release after UR3 will be 9.0 in June.

We are looking at doing full OCS integration. We know that we can do unified messaging with exchange07 with our current release of 8.0.8.10_1. We have had a MS Rep tell us that we need to wait for 8.1.x for full OCS integration to work correctly.

If you can provide any information that would be great.

Thanks

As I said, I'm not aware of a planned 8.1 release. 8.0UR3, which has a lot of stuff I'm waiting for, is scheduled to go GA on the 29th. The next release that I know of is 9.0, which (so far) is scheduled to go GA in June.

Largest item in 8.1 is SX-200 Per. Node support adn T.38 fax to work with Exchange.

GOMAZE, OCS works fully with 8.0. There is nothing on the road map for LBG or 3300 that isn't already there. What did MS say you need to wait for (feature wise)?

With 9.0, is it still looking like it will be limited to bay control card 2? Anything on the map for BCC 3s?

Gomaze, there will be no 8.1.xx or whatsoever. I think this was a misinterpretation from the MS guy. 8.0UR3 will deliver (besides SIP interop with Exchange UM and LBG fro RCC) the SIP integration into mediation server for Enterprise voice connectivity (ie OC softphone). As the formal integration (as required by Microsoft) relies on an interop plan it might be the case that a patch or UR4 etc might be delivered for full integration. As it stands now UR3 will be the version to do so. If not it will be a UR4 of release 9 as the next version to makes this a formal interop.

At the moment we have seen some trials already done on UR3 and this delivers "pc-to-phone" already with the ability to dial from Mitel to OCS and vice versa through the mediation server.

So it's more the question which version will get the formal MS "stamp" on this integration, in practice it might work before that already.....

Hope this adds.
