I have a new account whose users are all programmed with multicall prime directory numbers. According to them, this prevents them from ignoring an incoming call to make an outbound call while the phone is ringing as all their line appearances flash while ringing.
Assuming that they are using the phone correctly, should I consider changing the users to a single call variety?
I am concerned with losing the ability to have a rollover appearance.
Is there a better solution for this situation?
Thanks for your advice.

If the second line keys primary purpose is to allow a second incoming call while the phone is busy then no, leave it as is.

If the second line keys primary purpose is to give the user a 2nd line for the purpose of placing 1 call on hold and having a 2nd line to make an outbound call then yes, you can explore other options.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

The users wish to have the ability to make a call instead of answering the ringing line. I was able to set up a 5320 IP set with a Single Line Group type on key 1, a second DN on key 2, and made the set hunt to the second DN when busy using the Call ReRouting Always form.
I am stuck on how to change a set that is set up with a MultiCall Line Group assignment on key 1 to be a Single Line Group appearance.
Does anyone have any advice on how to best do that?
Thanks

delete the NON prime appearances for that DN. The last one programmed will then become a single line.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

I just tried removing the second appearance of the prime, and it worked just like you said.
I figured it was something simple, right under my nose.
I appreciate your help with this.
