[3300] Hard disk error

I have a ICP 3300 MX controller here with me where we want to swap the Hard disk from. (Customer wants a new hard disk)

The original hard disk was a 80Gb Hitachi-Mitel branded disk with 9UR3 software load.

I swapped it with a new ordered Mitel hard disk (80Gb Seagate branded) and did a from scratch installation. While formatting the disk it gives me the following error:

We tried using the FixPartition keyword, but gives the same result.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a bad hard drive. Are you doing this install manually through the VxWorks boot, or are you using the software install tool. I'm just curious as to the parameters you are entering when trying to install. Thanks

Hi,

We're doing a manual install, using VxWorks boot.
We had problems before installing this disk into this Mx controller, so we tried this disk in a controller in our lab (also an Mx). I worked fine.

These are the parameters we're using during the boot.
motfcc, Boot_Install as boot file, FixPartition or motfcc for other.

We swapped again to the old disk now.

It is a Mitel Provided disk.

processor number : 0
file name : Boot_Install
inet on ethernet (e) : 10.109.9.2:ffffff00
host inet (h) : 10.109.9.100
gateway inet (g) : 10.109.9.1

So if you have had problems in this same Controller before, it is probably the HD controller in that 3300. Do you have any spare parts laying around?

mitelninja agree. You have problems with a drive in the MX. Move the drive to another ( lab ) swtich and problems go away. Has to be original controller causing the issue.
