I'm unable to create 3 digit VM Box numbers. You can change the length in a 200. Is there a way to change it in a 3300?

kwbMitel, I don't think I figured it out. The biggest issue is, I don't have patience. Issue number 2 is, I don't think I fully completed the mailbox set up the first time. I went through, rerecorded mailbox names and greetings. I then listened to the rest of the set up steps until I heard the system told me that I had successfully set up each mailbox. I tested and it is now functioning properly.

I do have another question, how would I set up a Transfer mailbox to transfer callers to an external phone number or a system speed dial that will transfer callers to an external phone number?

Thanks

[li]MLAA does not require single digit mailboxes[/li]
[li]If you do not want MLAA you can instead use single digit mailboxes from the Top Level Auto-Attendant.[/li]
[li]These are 2 different things and serve different purposes and have different functionality[/li]

[li]You stated Earlier - "In the VM MLAA form, for Mailbox 1(Directions) I've added mailbox 5 to option 1; 6 to option 2; and 7 to option 3."[/li]
[li]But it seems you've recorded the greeting to say - "For directions from X City, push 5(which is the mailbox number I created). For directions from Y City, push 6. For directions from Z City, push 7."[/li]
[li]You've tried my suggestion - "I tried it using your advice. For directions, I chose 1. AFter that, I selected option 1 for directions from X City and still got "I don't understand the command" from the system"[/li]
[/ul]
*** This means that you have not in fact added mailbox 5 as option 1 in MLAA MB 1

[li]Setup transfer only mailbox[/li]
[li]Assign extension to transfer only mb that matches Speedcall[/li]
[li]Setup speedcall to dial destination[/li]

I didn't say it didn't require single digit mailboxes. I copied and pasted the information from the help files. So, what is the difference between MLAA and Single Digit Mailboxes? What are there functions?

Yes, you're correct, I did program the system this way: "For directions from X City, push 5(which is the mailbox number I created). For directions from Y City, push 6. For directions from Z City, push 7. And it was completely wrong. I have corrected my greeting to reflect what digits(1,2,3 and not 5,6,7) should be pushed for Directions from cities X,Y, and Z. Mailbox 5 has been added as option 1 in MLAA MB 1.

I'll work on the third part tomorrow. Sorry about the confusion. When I start making progress,I get excited about solving the problem. I'm focusing on the final destination and not what's in front of me. I end up confusing myself. That confusion spills into my posts. Apologies and thank you for the assistance. [smile]

MLAA and TOP Level AA are 2 Different things!

Your cut and paste from the help files is meaningless in this context.

I repeat for emphasis - MLAA DOES NOT REQUIRE SINGLE DIGIT MAILBOXES!

KwbMitel you have the patience of Job/Jobe . You are a good tech and a good man . Hats off to you !

All, I'd like to thank you for your time and patience. Your input is most welcome and I really appreciate it. I got a little impatient when I was programming this system but with your help, and urging, I finally got everyting ironed out. kwbMitel, yes you truly do have the patience of Job when dealing with me and I want to especially thank you sir.

I hope you all drink lots of good beer and eat lots of deliciously grilled or smoked meats!

Thanks!![tt][/tt]

I was a little afraid I went to far with that. Thanks for taking it in the spirit it was intended.

Sometimes these threads get a little long in the tooth and it's easy to loose track of who said what and when.

I'm glad you sorted it out.
