Thanks Burt for the post, I noticed you put a ppp pap statement and I am using chap.

Also you used pppoe and my isp uses pppoa.

I am a cisco switch guy, so I appreciate your post and patience. Thanks Tommy

My ISP told me that I was using CHAP as well, but it didn't work. Sorry---didn't notice the PPPoA...but I would imagine the main problem was the NAT config.

Burt

it won't let me type dialer-list 1
it chokes on the list part
when I do a help it tells me that the only dialer option is dialer-group. Thanks Tommy

Pos a sh ver, and we should get a good config worked out. What model router is this anyway?

Burt

Router is a 2650. I will post a sh ver. Thanks

here is the sh ver

Looks like you may need to update the IOS. I have one that works, but you'll need another 64MB DRAM...

Burt

what version do i need? and what router is yours on? and what is the total dram needed. Thanks Tommy

mINE IS A 2620xm, AND i HAVE ADVANCED ENTERPRISE 12.4(10)
You need 128MB of DRAM and I believe more than 32MB of flash (like a 32MB module, giving you 48 with the 16 onboard flash). I tried advanced security IOS and advanced enterprise 12.4(9), but neither worked with my WIC-1ADSL...perhaps someone else can shed some light? If you upgrade the DRAM and flash, I'd be happy to share the IOS...
