Hi,

I cannot get to boot. I changed out the bootroom and flash. Any answers out there?

boot: cannot load "flash:n"

This is your problem i think. Is "n" the name of your IOS file? If not, you need to change your boot command to reflect the correct name of your file.

The flash contains the IOS...did you replace it with a new one? Did you back up the IOS so you can load it onto the new flash?

did you put a
"boot system flash n"
in the config?

break the boot sequence and you should be in the boot or rommon prompt.. you can then change how it boots..

if your in boot mode you should be able to edit the config as needed.. if in rommmon you should probably change the config register to 0x2142 so bypass your startup and the router will boot an ios image from flash..

this is assuming that you have a valid image on the flash.

plshlpme,

Thanks, I believe you are correct, but I have replaced the bootrom and used both a empty flash stick and one from a 2610 with no luck. I cannot get into rmon. Any tricks?

you should be able to issue the break command when it is booting...

the break key is also the pause key on yuor keyboard..
depending on your client you may be able to have it send the break command like putty for example its a "special command"

i use shift break or ctrl break
one of the two should kick you out to rommon ..
