Is it possible to get 202 analog single line handsets on an IP Office. If so what configuration wold I use. This is for a simple motel that just needs a single line handset with voice mail and auto attendant for local dialing only no long distance so no SMDR for rebilling of long distance.

That is possible.
The ip500 can handle 12x phone 30 modules.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Indeed, the systems limit is 384. This is due to the number of analogue/dig handsets you can physically connect, the system can handle more IP phones but to keep it simple they set the ceiling at 384 anyway regardless of set type :)

And on 385 mr SCN makes his enternce and you can continue building up to 768 analogue extn.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Pay attention to the handsets you choose - there's not a whole lot of ring voltage available for older-style single or double gong ringers.

Thank you. So I would need to install modules and I wold assume that there are expansion cabinets? Is everything connected via an RJ45 to each port or can I use lets say a 25 pair AMP cable to a 66 block?

Any additional licenses if I stay with about 16 POTS lines?

Connect with RJ45 to the mods.
Looks like you will need 6x Phone30, 3x Phone 8 (or 6x Phone30, 1x Phone16, 1 Phone8), but that depends on what you have in the IPO already.

Remember to ground everything properly

Kind regards

For 202 analog stations and 16 ATM trunks you need:
1 IP500 Control unit 700476005
1 IP500 SD Card 700479710 for u-LAW (US) or 700479702 for A-LAW (For the better part of the world?)
1 IP500 Expansion card 700472889
7 IP500 phone expansion modules 700426224 ( = 210 analog stations )
1 IP500 ATM 16 expansion module 700449473 ( = 16 analog trunks )
1 R9.0 essential edition license OR 1 R9.0 preffered edition license

With the Essential edition you can use embedded VM but that has no extra's like wake up services and stuff like that OR go for the Preffered Edition with all the extra's.
I reccommend to buy the UCM ( 700501442 ) module which comes with the Preffered Edition license and VM Pro pre installed.

I would personally add a combo card to give a Dig for Reception and/or offices also gives flexibility for SIP trunks/analogue for GSM gateways/trunks, or indeed adding IP Phones. Also add 2 phone 8 cards and then use Phone 30's and a 16, cheaper and more functional :)

More or less the same setup as I thought of Andy:)
Should throw in 3x TRUNK ANALOG 4U + 1 Phone2 (for the last trunk card to piggyback on).

Could shrink it even further by using Combo/Phone8/Phone2/Phone2 in the card slots,
but some extra ports available for fax and later room expansion could be nice to have.

Plenty enough module ports on the back, so expansion in front is redundant.

Kind regards

I dont think that is cheaper and are SIP trunks available as he asked for ATM trunks, personnally I would avoid alog trunks and go SIP all the way.
I did not consider about GSM gateways as calling GSM > GSM and fixed > GSM goes at the same rate here.
Besides that, most Hotel visitors have their own GSM and that is always cheaper to use as a hotel phone, they intend to increase their rates with at least 100% so the phones are hardly used, only for calling the receptionist or wake up services.
It is mandatory for hotels to provide a phone in each room for emergency reasons, if not then there would be no phones in each room.

There are plenty of Hotels without phones in the rooms, I think all Travelodges in UK have taken phones out the rooms for example, at least the last 4/5 I have stayed in had no phone anyway :)

There are some requirements, in Europe and US a hotel must provide a phone for guests with disabilities, placed reachable from the bed.

Kind regards
