vMCD 5.0

1) If we have a number that is different area code, but the same last seven digits (ie: 206-555-1212 & 602-555-1212), how can we route these to two different extensions?

2) I need to either block, but preferably reroute an internal call to an external number (96025551212) to an internal extension located on the PBX (7200).

We were thinking either ARS routes or Speed Calls, but this does not seem to do the trick.

Both issues can be resolved if you have IP networking enabled on the system and can then program an IP Loopback trunk

For #1 look at my recent help for another user with a similar issue

For # 2, same principle by routing the digits to an IP trunk that strips the digits dialled and then replaces them with the internal number on loopback.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

How many digits is the carrier supplying?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

How? we're on vMCD6 and I haven't found a way to have a SSC to have more than 7 digits. The 'Actual Number' can, but, unless I am mistaken, that is where the call is going, and not what the users are dialing.

Think kwbMitel has the only way.

Ah yes the damn 7 digit restriction...which seems to be becoming more and more of a restriction.
