Another issue if anyone has some suggestions. 4 - 1616 phones on a 500v2 running 7.0.23 and we had alot of echo when we installed them, so i changed from G.711 to G.729 to compress the packets down more and it seemed to help some. Still having issues onsite so the IT guys created a VLAN on the remote side but since we are not using a point to point connection they said we cant push the VLAN through the VPN and now they are having big time problems. They did the tagging at the switch so all i had to do was change from a 192.168.1.211 to a 192.168.2.211 on the phones with no VLAN tag entered (since the switch is tagging it). Now they are saying that a couple of minutes into a call they can no longer hear the caller so i tried it out and i was able to hear her saying hello but she couldnt hear me.
One thing is the call server (pbx) stayed the same through all of this at 192.168.50.20 and it seems like that should be on the same .2.x like the phones are, but since the vlan cant push through the vpn im told that didnt matter. The IT guys sold them new layer 3 switches, and they are using the existing firewalls which are Sonicwall TZ 200 on both ends. they turned H.232 off on the firewalls so that the pbx can handle all of that, and i told them the diffserv settings DSCP=46, Mask=63, and signaling=34.
Pretty much all of my stuff is set as default other than the codec change. Anyone have any ideas for the pbx for me to look at or sonicwalls that i can pass to the IT guys. Thank you in advance
