I have an IPO V2 that I just upgraded to 8.0(56). My 1416 phones do not come up. They just have one "a" in the display. I have a 9630G that is working, and a 9508 that works. Have rebooted the phones and the system.

Make sure it is properly terminated into a digital port on the system. The 1416 is a digital phone, not IP. This sounds like the phone is not connected properly to the IP Office.

It is terminated properly. There is a line cord running right from the phone to the digital port. I know the difference between digital and IP. This is not my first rodeo. The problem is that the phone is not getting its firmware properly. If I unplug the 1416 and plug it into the port that the 9508 was on the phone will come up and work properly. If the system is rebooted then it loses its programming and will not come back up.

Then you have much bigger problems than a 1416, sounds like you SD is corrupted :)

If that's the case, will re creating the SD card help with that or should I play Taps and call my distributor for a new card?

It may help, but often not for long, usually best to change it :)

What does monitor say when you call it?
What does SSA say about the extension.
Can you make an receive calls? What kind of card are these two digital phones on?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The phones are on a combo card. When the phones are not working, SSA says unplugged. If I move the 1416 to the port that the 9508 is using, It comes up and functions properly. I can move it back to another port, and it works fine. I can make and receive calls. It's just after a reboot or a shutdown that the phone does not come back. I suspect something is wrong with the unit because I also have a UC module in the system that is showing heartbeat failure in SSA. Monday I am going to see if I can reinstall the iso file and get the UC module back. Fortunately this is not a customer system, it is used by my sales team as a demo unit. They wanted to take it to a trade show this coming Thursday so I may or may not have it ready for them. Thanks for the posts.

They probably do not shutdown the ipoffice they way they should?

It shouldn't matter really, power cuts happen and then UPSs don't last forever, power downs can't always be managed and the system should be designed as such :)
