Does anybody have a good technique that they use for pulling off and removing and replacing a defective wafer on an existing 110 block?

I tried using a pair of pliers but I can't seem to pull them off.

I've always used pliers to yank them out. Give them a good tug, they come right out.

I always use channellock pliers. The angled design can give you a better grip for pulling straight back.

Is this still used these days?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

tlpeter you would start laughing when you see that in most US states the demarc is still on 66 block

It has the advantage that you can split open the connection without taking the wires out but a sweaty forearm on the contacts when calls come in wake you up :)

Out in the field here I still run across wood blocks with nuts and bolts.

The only thing worse is the old wire wrap dmarcs.
