Hey guys. My cable modem at home was having problems for about a week until comcast came out and fixed it. I have a Pix 506. Now that my cable modem works I simply rebooted my PIX and acquired a new dynamic IP address.
Now I'm trying to VPN to my home network with the new address. But nothing...
Oops. Who is better than you? I made a typo error. HeeHee
Since I did say above "my outside address on my PIX 506 is 192.168.1.1"
Hence my ACL would be:
Access-list RulesForOutside permit tcp host 192.168.1.1 any eq 5901
Access-list RulesForOutside permit tcp host 192.168.1.1 any eq 5631...

Is it possible to setup VPN access on a 506 Pix eventhough the external IP is dynamic?
If so how do you port forward from the external address to my NAT address?
Thank you.
Ok now that I have PDM setup the GUI definitely helps out more than putty. I have a PIX506 and want to setup VPN.
Does anyone have a link or some tips to start this because honestly the CISCO reference guides look like jargon to me.
I'm too new at this to understand that. Thanks for all your...

Great that worked. All I had to do was create the username mypix password xxxxx and that allowed me to get into my pix through PDM.
Thanks Fellas.
Time to work.
Ok i have checked my version on my 506. Everything is ok.
I have installed java jdk-1_5_0_01-windows-i586-p
and I can't access my PIX from the IE.
I receive a login window and it requires username and password.
I simply type mypix in the user and my telnet password.
And...
cool. This still looks very confusing :(
One project at a time. HeeHee
Do you have a link for PDM? That would be great if I could configure my pix through GUI. Kind of like Linksys.
LEt me know...

Is it worth installing PDM?
Wow another thing to learn huh?
Forgive my newb comments.
Thank you
Ok here is my setup.
Please take it easy on me guys since I'm a newb with minimal experience in this field.
