Symantec was nice enough to inform me that the only way to run Liveupdate was with an account that has administrative rights. Has anyone been able to figure out how to allow a regular user (non-admin) account to be able to run Liveupdate?
Does anyone know if anything in group policy will allow my non-admin users to install active-x controls when they go to a web site that requires one to be installed?
Just write a batch file to install them all like this. Thats what I do, then i reboot the system. We create a "update" logon that has something like this as its "logon script"
KB834707 /passive /norestart
KB873339 /passive /norestart
KB885835 /passive /norestart
KB885836 /passive /norestart...
If you are running a Windows 2000 Domained based network you can do this with the startup/shutdown scripts in group policy.
Or you can run mmc, the add the group policy object editor, choose local computer and then add a shutdown script under Windows Settings - Scripts.

The the latter give them rights to the...
I tried changing the rights to the powercfg.cpl and no change. The error that pops up on the screen is:

I am having a problem and was wondering if anyone has found a work around for this. We have some laptops that users are not able to adjust any of the power management features because they have standard user accounts. Our policy is to not give them admin accounts. Does anyone know how I can...
