    Yes, nID is IDC_EDIT1 in the GetDlgItem() argument list, and you can call CDialog::OnOK() if u don't have an OK button, which will DoDataExchange() and close the dialog.     I think this error has to do with the version of Oleaut32.dll on the client. I was getting the same error trying to install a game I'd bought (Exile), and it was fixed when I replaced Oleaut32.dll version 3.5 with an older one (2.5 I think). You can probably test this theory by replacing it...
