    Table styles

Hi all, Is there something like a "table style" in ID ? I often get a MS-Word table I have to format with alternating row colors, pictures in the background of the heading cells, centering the contents of some cells etc. I seem to have to choose between two evils. The first is copying and...

    Importing Metadata into Indesign

I suppose you mean EXIF data and I think you need an intermediate utility to extract these to txt files wich in turn can be imported to ID. The folowing is a quote from: http://www.outbackphoto.com/workflow/wf_64/essay.html ... there’s software that allows you to extract EXIF information to...

    Simple problem

I don't have DW right here so I cannot verify it in DW, but you can open the site with ftp probably: ftp://www.ibs.ie and then change the filename. After that try putting the file from DW Hope it works Antoon

    Simple problem

I meant superfluous *to mention* (as it was, because you did save the file first). Maybe renaming the file in stead of deleting it, if you're afraid you'll loose it? Antoon

    Simple problem

Maybe superfluous, but did you save the editted file before putting it? Antoon

New to InDesign, have simple question about type strings?

Hi Mike, Unlink the two columns like you did. In the first column go to where you would like to end the text. There press Control-Shift-End to select the rest of the text. Next press contol- x to cut that text. Finaly past the text in the second column. Does that do what you want? Antoon

    paper size

Hi all, I regularly create a small newsletter with paper size A5. The two center pages, though, should contain a table which is full A3 landscape. Can these be combined in one InDesign document? Antoon Smulders

set up a 12 page newsletter to print

Well, I wanted to give this reply in another thread, until I saw that the other user had a book of 50 pages. But if you regularly have a newsletter of less pages, then you can do the following: type in the numbers in notepad, something like: 12 pages: 12,1,2,11,10,3,4,9,8,6,6,7 You can ad...

    conditional gradients

I did discover that possibility. But the point is: AFTER I place the gradient (from the master page or from the library or from a copy or by even creating it manually) when I insert a page before it, all gradients behind the inserted page will be "the other way round". So they all have to be...

    conditional gradients

Thank you, it is a good suggestion, although it is not perfect. I tried it. When I unlock the gradient frame and then I insert a page before the unlocked / moved frame the gradient doesn't adjust to the new position. Even worse: I DO have to unlock them all, because I have to type the...

    conditional gradients

Thank you, but that is not exactly what I mean. I've used the masterpage for something like this with the footer (containing page numbers left and right) But some articles have more then one page, some articles start halfway down the page and somtimes there are two small artcles on the same...

    conditional gradients

I am rather new in ID. I made a layout for a newsletter that has gradients in textframes for the headings, that differ for left and right hand pages (Dark at the inside and light at the outside). Now if I insert a page somewhere I have to change all te gradients after that one. Is it possible to...
