I am rather new in ID. I made a layout for a newsletter that has gradients in textframes for the headings, that differ for left and right hand pages (Dark at the inside and light at the outside).
Now if I insert a page somewhere I have to change all te gradients after that one.
Is it possible to automate that?
Thanks,
Antoon

Thank you, but that is not exactly what I mean.
I've used the masterpage for something like this with the footer (containing page numbers left and right)
But some articles have more then one page, some articles start halfway down the page and somtimes there are two small artcles on the same page. If I change the masterpage I get the gradient everywhere on a fixed position.

Thanks anyway

Thank you, it is a good suggestion, although it is not perfect. I tried it. When I unlock the gradient frame and then I insert a page before the unlocked / moved frame the gradient doesn't adjust to the new position. Even worse: I DO have to unlock them all, because I have to type the (different) titles in them.
But your suggestion is indeed useful, because on most pages I need such a gradient frame on top of it. What I did until now is copy and past from another page and move it to the right position. Now I have a copy with the right gradient in the right place to begin with most of the time.

Most people create a "Library" and place all those things, like gradients, shadded boxes etc. Stuff they use all the time. in the library.

The Library is just a pallet that you could drag stuff where you want them.

I did discover that possibility. But the point is: AFTER I place the gradient (from the master page or from the library or from a copy or by even creating it manually) when I insert a page before it, all gradients behind the inserted page will be "the other way round". So they all have to be changed.
