Simple problem

i am new to dreamweaver. i have been asked to change some simple text on our site

. i have username and password and have downloaded the site. i then edited the appropriate text and clicked file, and send to remote server but the data never gets updated. what am i doing wrong??

yeah, i created a new local site and got all the files from

the one in question

downloads actually with the new text in in. The digital camera is supposed to say hifi music centre.

even when i put an extra letter in the text and synchronize, its says no need to synchronize. what is going on??? thanks in advance

Maybe superfluous, but did you save the editted file before putting it?

how u mean superfluous ??? yes i saved it. but still sees no changes. the strangest thing is when i download the files from the live site it downloads the one with the music centre in it, when you have that open and select preview with browser then it shows the camera text....any ideas

Delete the page on the server and try to visit it then upload the correct version.

thats a bit dodgy isnt it. what if it doesnt work, the page is then gone

I meant superfluous *to mention* (as it was, because you did save the file first).
Maybe renaming the file in stead of deleting it, if you're afraid you'll loose it?

i have tried another page. i changed text, synchronized, it saw there was a change and it did the 'put'. then on the website the text is the same, whats wrong

Could be just your browser caching the page. CTRL-F5 will force a reload

come on man. i have opened the page about one hundred times now. still no good. im getting very stressed out here

I don't have DW right here so I cannot verify it in DW, but you can open the site with ftp probably: ftp://

http://www.ibs.ie

and then change the filename. After that try putting the file from DW
