Hi All
Am putting a project to gether in poland using voip and this card as the analogue gateway....anyone got any ideas on where I can find information on incoming call stats? I need to show a way of determining that all incoming lines are busy and a call has been rejected? This is in the...
hi there
you are correct in your first two assumptions. Either you need the correct subnet mask so both the .190 and the .191 appear as one network. This can be done by changing the subnet mask to probably be 255.255.254.0. (check on a subnet calculator) In theory this would make the range...

Have just moved to Checkpoint secure client in our corporation and have a slight issue. "RAS'ing in" is fine and we can get complete connectivity. The problem is logging out the Secure client disconnects before the windows profile syncronisation has completed. Does...

I have a problem (not the obvious one as you all snigger). We have a remote access system that terminates on a dmz of our pix. The issue is that the windows clients cannot authenticate with our domain controllers which reside on the inside interface. There is a NAT setup from dmz to inside...

I have had a request to add two dns aliases pointing to one device for a unix box to round robin it's nic cards. We tried doing this in our ole' nt4 dns servers and it failed, we then tried adding it into the text file directly and it failed. We have since upgraded to 2000 Active directory...
I have 2 AD3 set up for VRRP one is used constantly as primary and the backup only ever kicks in when the primary fails. As soon as the primary is restored it takes control. I lose 2 - 3 pings on failure and 1 on the restore. I can forward you the configs if this is what you are after.

I have issues with configuring an Alteon AD3 purchased recently. The sceanerio is as follows:
The user base sits in two areas, locally connected on the LAN and through two firewalls and on a 256k dsl connection. I have three front-end web servers which I would like to load balance. If I...
At first glance I would say you have a memory leakage issue on your c100. There was a similar fault on the fore systems switches where vci's weren't released on a connection being torn down. Eventually this becomes a problem. Other wise the default number of vci's to a nic is 512 and you've...
Hi People
We currently run a pix 515 implementation with 6 dmz's. The firewall config currently prints out to about 15 pages. On reviewing the solution we are contemplating going to a checkpoint solution on Nokia. Can anyone suggest any pro's or cons to moving away from the pix solution. I have...
You are ccreating a broadcast loop. Since the hubs are only layer 2 you creat a loop in the network.....Not good. If you want to double the bandwidth you need to route the connections. If you want to have redundancy you'll need to enable spanning tree. This will block one of the links and bring...
I have heard of a problem with multiple DNS servers in windows 2k...Microsoft have noted it will not be fixed in win2k but we will have to upgrade to XP where it has already been fixed....typical solution from a provider and we are yet to test it but by all accounts the seem to have done some...
The best way to begin to understand you're aims/goals....Ciscoworks is an element manager. It MANAGES cisco equipment only. HP Openview for instance is a Network Manager and as such manages the general network without being specific to any vendor. In the case of cisco they provide What's Up Gold...
There is a bug in microsofts nt 4 workstation that gives the wrong subnet address from dhcp. I have seen this on a dial up to dhcp server where nt 4 is wrong but windows 95 98 2000 have all got the right address.....Dunno if this helps...More info is available on technet somewhere!

I have never managed to do this either and when using a mixed manufacture network this is very painful. I have noticed though it is possbile to copy one of the files at the end so if you rebuild the station you don't have to go through this process again.... however I have never tried it yet...I...
You have to download all the latest mib defination files from cisco. Integrate them into you're third party platform. When these come in they should be then translated into a sensible message...This happens quite regularly with cisco stuff....

Put two nic cards in one pc use it as a router connect the second pc to the first. You have to enable internet connection sharing. All this for the cost of one nic card. Only draw back you have to have both pc's switched on for the second pc to work.
Btw I think you got the wrong forum for...
Hi....
I have a cable modem at home and it links to my home pc. I use a second nic card and hub off that to allow more 4 other pc's at home internet access. However the only thing that ties my home pc to the net is the mac address of the nic in my home pc. The rest of the config is basically...
O.k A few pointers....
The switch on the hub usually enables the first or last port to be a cross over or uplink. This is useful when connecting two hubs together using striaght ethernet cables. In this instance you shouldn't need it. You will have your link to the ethernet via cable modem...
