Ran the process and it finished ok. When I go into the guest a/c and try to access the Adminstrator / my own user settings, it now says 'Access is denied' - Great!
My only problem now is I also want to be able to stop people from installing applications and deleting Windows Files. How can I do...
The guest a/c can be viewed in the 'User Accounts' folder and has 'Limited account' written under it. In the same folder, it also shows under 'guest' that 'Guest account is off'
I don't know how my hard drive is formatted
I want to let other people use my PC as well as myself and have set up a guest a/c in XP Pro, however I was shocked to find they could still access my files.
To log onto my own a/c it is password protected, however from the guest a/c you can still access folders which are private. Is there any...
No, I'm sorry if I'm confusing the issue here. I've provided and configured a PC and camera to this company and set it up to stream live video from their workshop. Thats my bit done. Their bit is to connect it to their network and stream it (restricted) over the internet so that I can log onto...
I'd love to be able to tell you Burt, but I don't know and don't want to ask as I'm not the IT expert and don't want to be telling a granny how to suck eggs
But I am interested generally in knowing if its a problem

I've set up an encoding PC within a medium sized company with around 100 PC's in their network and 3-4 IT personnel. My aim is to unicast the stream of live video from the encoding machine inside their network to a single PC on the internet.
As I've done on my own PC, I've told them that the...
One of the main problems that I could see here is that drivers would have to log onto each a/c before checking which spaces (if any) are available.
Any ideas how to get around this?
Stephen
My employer has around 15 permanent car parking spaces with about 30 company car drivers. The only fair way to allocate spaces is on a first come first serve basis and they have to ring in and book times and spaces, but this is taking up a lot of time for our internal staff
Has anyone any idea...
I've actually looked at openvpn and installed it a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it doesn't run on 64-bit XP and it actually crashed my system. It took me a while to uninstall the adapter but other than that, I think it would be a good alternative

Hi Zoe, not sure if you're still looking for info on this but I was also working on a similar project and found some interesting info at -

My employer has kindly installed a DSL line in my home similar to my own home DSL which downloads at around 3000kbps. However, my employer's DSL via the VPN is downloading at only around 5-600 kbps and is a bit unstable. The line has been checked and the router reset and its only when I access...
I've just realised from continuosly searching for answer that it might be that there is no 'Control Protocol' plug-in visible in the Properties tab, however in a similar one there is which seems to allow for certain ports to be used, etc. This could be the answer but I cant find out why its not...
Thanks elmurado, but I'm trying to access the broadcast from outside the LAN, ie on the internet (I can access it easily within the LAN)
I've tried http://87.131.119.37, http://87.131.119.37, http://87.131.119.37/STEPHEN/test, http://87.131.119.37/test, http://87.131.119.37/STEPHEN/test.htm...
Thanks elmurado
I don't have a static IP address but this dynamic address has not changed in months and for test purposes, I'm trying to keep it as simply as I can. Having said that, I have registered with dyndns.org but don't want to do anything until I get this running sweet and then I'll use...
Thanks elmurado for these suggestions
When I input the (dynamic) IP address (which incidentally has changed again) into the browser, I cannot access the broadcast
I'd already been to the 2 links above but did not help - that is where I found the 2 newsgroups
Thanks anyway, Stephen
Thanks elmurado
