Patrick,
I have been having another problem with printers:
Using the new Session Printers within PS4 Policies has not been working. You can allocate network printers to users based on the policy, thus meaning you don't need login scripts (for printers anyway).
With client v9 it works!! I hold...
Thanks Patrick,
I don't think there is a way of upgrading the ICA client on the 1200 - it uses the Wyse Blazer operating system. I believe Wyse would have to include ICA 8.0 in a firmware upgrade. The latest firmware includes v7.0.

Hello,
I have tried to be clever. I have some Wyse 1200LE's to which I have attached a deskjet printer. If I specify the printer name correctly, the printer is auto-created on the Citrix server. No problem. However, I would like to specify the printer to be "Local Printer" on the Wyse unit...
Hello Scott.
Are you saying that the session printer policies do not work?
I have got a w2k3 print server connected ok. That prints. I have a w2k3 citrix box which prints if you manually install the printer -( \\printserver\sharename). It is just when you try to get the policy to created the...
Hi Chaps,
has anyone any experience of the session printing policies in Pres Server 4? You can use them to give users network printers, I think. Only it doesn't work for me. There is an error in the Event viewer which just says they cannot be created. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks, Lloyd
Scott - I even found the Advanced Admin guide a little difficult to fathom (I'm no SQL expert) although now I have done it, I understand it. Always the way.
Brandon, I think I can see how your way works. This is how I did it - you should do backups etc and I certainly recommend doing it in a...
Guys,
have you done your move yet? I have done exactly what you need to do in a test environment recently, documenting the steps. Would that help? There are lots of documents out there that don't make alot of sense until you go for it!

Thanks Mike, that is good to know.
I am thinking of calling it "mayineverhavetomesswiththecitrixdatastoreagainforaslongasishalllivepleasegodhearmyplea.dsn"

Hello,
I have finally managed to move a SQL datastore from one server to another AND it works! Now, no big shakes I hear you cry. But for me, this feels like a life's work.
One question: I am now using a dsn file called "mf21.dsn" - this was the file I used to connect to the new database...
Hello everyone,
for some reason my SQL datastore is contained in the datastore servers Master database. This must have occurred when I first created the farm, I was a little green. It seems to be a bad idea to have the datastore as the Master database. The citrix answer is abit vague. see "How...
Well I use PS3. So in practice, if the datastore is taken off line, users will have problems well within that 96 hour period?
I better re-visit my Disaster Recovery docs!
Hello,
this weekend, our farm SQL datastore was taken off line by mistake. When it was time for people to start using the published applications, less than 48 hours later, no one could log in. Once the datastore was put back on line, everything was fine.
I thought you had 96 hours where the...
Hello,
Here is one to test everyone. Our terminal services license server is not showing the correct amount of "issued" licenses. We have 80 x Terminal Services CAL token (per-device). I would expect to see around 60 used, but instead it is just reporting 7 !! I heard there was a problem with...
Scott, Chris,
thanks for all the info.
I think I have the printer drivers tied down pretty well - Citrix will only create the default printer and then only if the driver is installed on the server. I don't use the UPD at all (I found it very slow). I wonder if the problem is the quantity...
