Actually it's a nightmare. It would appear that the problem lies mainly in QuarkXpress 6.1 itself. It cannot always handle Unicode fonts correctly.
I purchased Gill Sans CE and Gill Sans CE Light which do have the characters I want in them, according to programs such as PopChar, charmap and Word...
For other reasons I have just installed Acrobat 5.0 (the full product, not the reader) and it now comes up in IE6 when I click on a pdf link. Not the ideal solution, as some pdfs prepared with Acrobat 6 can be backwards incompatable, but much better than nothing.

I think I've traced the problem. I downloaded Memtest-86 and ran it. I threw up a slew of memory errors in 2 of its tests, the others passed. I was running 3 x sticks of 512Mb Corsair PC3200 DDR RAM. By process of elimination, one stick shows the fault, the other 2 are OK. So now I'm down to...
No, only standard IE6 toolbar plus google toolbar.
toolbarcop doesn't show anything out of the ordinary or unexpected.
BTW, Reader works as expected if a site is viewed in Netscape 7.2.
Peter.
This is getting very frustrating! It's not that it's really important, just annoying that it doesn't work - still. Afer all that time and effort.
Everything except unsigned ActiveX controls is now allowed or at least not blocked completely.
I've run iefix several times, with all thhe options...
Thanks bcaster, I was already at 6.0.1, but unfortunately the 6.0.2 upgrade has done no good [sad].
BTW, sorry about the double post, I got an error message on the first one and re-posted. I have asked for it to be removed.
Peter.
Hi,
I have an almost identical problem to kippy13.
On my old W2K Pro installation the problem was identical, Acrobat 5 was used by IE6 instead of Reader 6.0.1
Now I've "updated" to XP Pro I don't have Acrobat 5 installed any more (yet). Despite installing / uninstalling Reader 6 several times...

Thanks everybody, copying the dll to system32 alows drivequery to run. Strangely the environment variable "Path" contains all the paths linney quotes together with C:\PROGRA~1\dpp\.
Still it now works and I can get on with tracking down the rogue driver. Again thanks to linney for pointing me...
Thanks bcastner and Frank$d,
I've read the MS document and done what they say. I presume the second half of the document is a test to prove that the dll is correctly installed. However drivequery still refuses to run. Does anyone know of a similar 3rd party shareware / feeware utility I could...
I have a new installation ("upgrade" of W2K) which occasionaly reboots without warning. Microsoft's error analysis calims it is due to a faulty driver. I've tried to run driverquery from the "run" box, but get an error message that says "This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll...
