I have had problem with my HD: bad contact in power calble. Random HD failure crashed my win98SE installation: at bootup, I get only 16 colors, and an error "cannot find ui.dll". Also: runtime.dll failure.
A limited Win98se re-install in the same dir did NOT solve the problem...
