We are currently using DLT IV tapes, SDLT tapes, and LTO3 tapes for our backups. Since the DLT and SDLT tapes are getting pretty old, I was wondering when these tapes should be retired and replaced with new tapes? Some of ours are over two years old. We rotate them every two weeks and reuse them...
I forgot to mention that not only can I find a backup tape of the client from 12/2/06, I also have an index backup tape with the same date 12/2/06. Could you give me the particular commands I would run from the backup server to restore these particular files? I was under the impression that I...
When trying to run nwrecover from the Unix client, I get the following error message when browsing back to 12/2/06:
Nothing in index at this time
However, from my backup server, I can navigate to the Volumes tab and see a tape for this particular client with a saveset dating back to 12/2/06...
On two different NetWorker Group backups, it appears they get so far during the backup, then start over. I am runnig NetWorker v7.2.1 Build 311 (and haven't been successful in getting the update from the EMC website or anywhere else), so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I...
I am currently running NetWorker v 7.2.1 Build 311 on a Windows Server. I was informed that there is a patch or update, which I am unable to download from the EMC website. Can someone help me retrieve the latest version of NetWorker? Thanks in advance!
Does anyone out there know of a way to set up a Dell 1600n multifunction printer to work as a network scanner? I can load a document, then press Start Scan, then choose Network Scan on the display, but when it asks me to "Selece User ID", it beeps and says "ID List Empty". Any help would be...
Does anyone have a generic Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Directive they use to exclude unimportant files/directories? Do you know if EMC/Legato has updated them when the new versions of software come out? Also, do the Directives used when setting up the clients on the Networker side overrule the...
I added a new client to a group/pool last night and ran the backups. I keep getting the following error:
"savefs: RPC error: RPC send operation failed. A network connection could not be established with the host."
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be or what I can check to resolve it...
No luck! Keep getting dialog box that says "The document contains no data". Thanks anyway, but I'm going to have to contact EMC/Legato for support I think.
In reference to the Patch:
You should use version 7.2.1
with security patch LGTpa83990 = build 314
Can someone please tell me how to get it downloaded? I have tried several times on the Legato website, but keep getting a pop-up box that tells me there is no data for the link I click on...
Could someone tell me how to get around this error message? My backups just recently started failing due to this error. I have never used VSS Enabler and do not really know what it is. Any help or explanations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you 605! I was actually missing the "backup command", but wasn't sure if the "save set" command was different for Exch 2003 (from Exch 2000) clients. Thanks for your help! The group is now running successfully!
The Save Set command: nsrxchsv did not work. Gave the error: No such file or directory. Any other suggestions? I meant to say this was a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Client, not Server. Thanks!
Could anyone tell me what the Save Set command you use to back up a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server using Legato Networker v7.1 Build 230? (Version on Exch client is 7.1 also). Thank you!
I am using an Avocent SwitchView switch and can't figure out the shortcut. We also use other KVM switches and I just found out that shortcut is Control F12, but not with the Avocent. Thanks!
I know there's a command to get to the screen that allows you to change the name of the computer displayed when you are using Control + # (when using a switch), but I am new to this and can't remember where it is... can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!
